Terms of service

The agreement between Sensolytica and the organisation using the portal. Individuals use it under their organisation’s account.

Last changed 4 September 2026. About a 2 minute read.

1. Who these terms are for

These terms govern use of the Sensolytica portal, the sensing nodes and the records they produce (together, "the Service") by an organisation that has a subscription with Sensolytica Ltd ("the Customer"). People who sign in do so on behalf of, and with the authority of, the Customer.

Where a separate signed agreement exists between the Customer and Sensolytica, that agreement prevails over these terms to the extent they differ.

2. The Service

Sensolytica supplies sensing nodes, a hosted portal and a processing pipeline that produces timestamped, sealed records of vessel and vehicle movement within zones the Customer defines.

Records are evidence, not adjudication. Verdicts are produced by automated measurement and, where indicated, human review by the Customer’s own staff. The Customer is responsible for how records are relied on, including any enforcement decision.

3. Accounts and roles

The Customer’s admins control who has access and at what role. The Customer is responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for activity under its accounts.

Sensolytica staff hold a super-admin role for support and operation of the platform. Access to Customer data under that role is logged and limited to what the support task requires.

4. Hardware

Nodes remain the property of Sensolytica unless purchased outright under an order form. The Customer must not open, modify or relocate a node except as the deployment guidance allows.

Nodes are self-powered and weatherproof to the rated standard, but performance depends on siting, solar exposure and mobile coverage, which the Customer controls.

5. Fees

Fees are as set out in the order form: a one-off charge per node and a monthly subscription per active node. Invoices are payable within 30 days.

Sensolytica may suspend the Service for non-payment after 14 days’ written notice.

6. Data

The Customer is the controller of personal data in captures (for example number plates and images of people). Sensolytica processes it as a processor under the Data Processing Addendum.

Sealed records are retained for the period set in the Customer’s settings (default 24 months) and then deleted. The Customer may export records at any time.

7. Acceptable use

The Service may be used only for lawful monitoring of shared spaces the Customer is responsible for, with appropriate signage and a lawful basis for processing.

The Customer must not use the Service to track identified individuals beyond the purpose of the deployment, or attempt to access another organisation’s data.

8. Availability and support

Sensolytica aims for 99.5% monthly availability of the portal, excluding planned maintenance notified 48 hours in advance. Support is available on working days, 09:00 to 17:30 UK time.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, each party’s total liability under these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the fees paid by the Customer in that period. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss.

10. Term and termination

The subscription runs for the initial term on the order form and then month to month. Either party may terminate on 30 days’ written notice at the end of the initial term.

On termination the Customer may export its records for 60 days, after which they are deleted.

11. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Notices go to [email protected] and to the Customer’s admin email on file.
