Data protection for deployments

What a customer organisation needs in place before a node goes live, and what Sensolytica does to help.

Last changed 4 September 2026. About a 1 minute read.

Before deployment

A Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA): we provide a template covering the sensing method, retention and access controls.

A lawful basis for processing, typically public task for councils and harbour authorities.

Signage at the monitored zone stating that speed monitoring is in operation and who the controller is.

Data minimisation by design

Nodes record only when motion is detected, for about ten seconds, and keep only key frames plus measurements.

Identification (plate or vessel name) is performed only where the customer has enabled it for a zone.

Faces are not analysed. Where a frame includes a person, it is retained only as part of the sealed record and is not used to identify them.

Access and audit

Every review, seal and export is attributed to a named user and timestamped. Super-admin access by Sensolytica is logged with the reason.

Subject access and disclosure

Requests from data subjects, insurers or police go to the customer as controller. The portal’s evidence-pack export produces a complete, sealed copy for lawful disclosure.
